The Hutto High School AFJROTC Scholarship Program is a proud initiative of the Richard A. Oman American Legion Post 302. Each year, we recognize exceptional cadets from the Hutto High School Air Force Junior ROTC who demonstrate leadership, academic dedication, integrity, and a commitment to community service. ​​Our mission is simple: to support and empower the next generation of leaders. Through this scholarship, Post 302 invests in students who embody the values of the AFJROTC program and show strong potential for future success—whether in higher education, military service, or civilian careers.

​Who Is Eligible?
The scholarship is open to:

Current cadets enrolled in the Hutto High School AFJROTC program

Students who maintain strong academic standing

Cadets who exhibit leadership, discipline, and consistent participation
-
Youth who actively contribute to their community and uphold Air Force core values

What the Scholarship Supports
This scholarship helps cover educational expenses such as:

College or university tuition

Trade or technical school costs

Training certifications
-
Books, supplies, or other academic needs

Our goal is to remove barriers and open doors for motivated cadets pursuing their next chapter.

How to Apply
Applications are made available each spring through the AFJROTC program and American Legion Post 302.
Cadets must submit:

A completed application

A brief personal statement

Recommendation(s) from AFJROTC instructors or school staff

Award recipients are announced at the end of the school year.
