​​​ Ed Wrinkle​​​​​​ was born on Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, where most of his childhood was spent living overseas. Upon his father’s military retirement from the United States Air Force, the family moved to Taylor, Texas where most of his mother’s family resided. A 1981 Taylor High School graduate, Ed attended Temple Junior College before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1983. He served as a Marine Aviation Supply Expeditor in the Supply Response Section (SRS) Unit for Marine Aircraft Group 31. Ed’s role was to provide high priority logistical support to A-4 Skyhawk, F-4 Phantom, and later, FA-18 Hornet fighter aircraft, as well as supporting ground units stationed at Beaufort MCAS, South Carolina. After four years of Active Duty, Ed entered Active Reserve duty at Dallas NAS where he supported FA-18 Hornet Aircraft for VMFA-112 and would later serve as Marine Aircraft Group 41’s Supply Chief for Reservists. While on Active Reserve, Ed was able to obtain an associate degree in business management from Temple Junior College, and a bachelor’s degree with a Major in History and Minor in Exercise and Sports Science from Southwest Texas State University. In addition to his Secondary Teacher Certification, Ed completed an additional 12 hours at Texas State University to earn his Driver’s Education Instructor Certification for Public and Commercial Schools. He would later obtain a Master of Education Degree from Concordia University. Ed recently retired from Education and spends his time with his family and being involved in community organizations. He is currently serving his second term as Post Commander. Other positions within the Post that Ed served over the years are 2nd Vice Commander, Post Finance Officer, and Post Historian. Ed is also a member of the Williamson County Retired Teachers Association, and the Texas High School Coaches Association.  Ed is married with two children and has six grandchildren, Ed and Jane’s son Hunter was a 2016 graduate of Hutto High School. He also enlisted and served in the Marines as an Aviation Ordnance Technician for FA-18 aircraft at MAG-31, Beaufort MCAS.​
