Please keep the line moving, and your children with you at all times.
Do not allow them to wander around the location.
You are allowed ONE big ticket Item, once you chose, there are no exchanges.
If you have been to this event previously, please allow others to get a try and rotate in, we have a limited number of spots, and would like to allow new people to experience the event.
Important Information: Duffel Bag Event Sign-Up Process
To sign up for the Duffel Bag event, please visit our website. We will no longer send out a separate link—registration will only be available through the website. Sign-up begins on the Friday before the Sunday event. The countdown clock on the site will remind you when registration opens.
Key Details:
-
One Time Slot Per Person: You may only sign up for one time slot. Time slots are in 10-minute increments, which is the time allocated for you to collect the items you need. If you sign up for more than one time slot, we will assign you the later time or place you on the Stand-by List. We aim to serve as many veterans as possible during the Duffel Bag event, so please be considerate of others who may be waiting.
-
Attendance: If you sign up, please make sure to attend the event. We understand that emergencies can occur, but if a veteran repeatedly fails to show up, they will be moved to the Stand-by List for future events.
-
Arrival: Please check in when you arrive. We recommend not arriving too early before your time slot to avoid waiting in the heat or bad weather.
-
Bag Policy: You must use the two green bags that were provided to you for free on your first visit. If you forgot or lost your bag(s), you will need to purchase at least one replacement bag for $5.00 before entering. You may purchase up to two bags if needed. At least one green bag is required to enter the event.
-
Big Items: Upon check-in, you will receive a poker chip that allows you to choose one big item. These items are located at the last tables before you exit. You must bring your green bag(s) and cannot enter just for a big item.
-
Exit Policy: Once you have exited, re-entry is not permitted. If you need help carrying out your items, a volunteer will be available to assist.
-
Identification:
-
Non-Members: If you are not an active member of Post 302, you must show a valid ID verifying your veteran status (e.g., driver's license with veteran designation, military ID, DD-214, or a valid Legion member card from another post).
-
Spouses: If you are a spouse of a veteran who is not present, please bring a valid ID to verify their veteran status.
-
Members of Post 302: Active members do not need to provide additional identification, as we already have your veteran status on file.
-
-
VIP Time Slot: There is a new VIP time slot from 1300-1330 for veterans with an active membership in the Richard A. Oman American Legion Post 302. To take advantage of this, you must have an active membership for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The current membership fee is $50.00.
-
Donations: The items available at the Duffel Bag event are donated by local retailers partnered with Post 302. These items cannot be returned or resold. Any violation of this policy will result in being barred from future Duffel Bag events and Post 302 membership.
-
Restocking: Donations vary each month. If necessary, Post 302 reserves the right to skip a month to restock. You will notified in advance if this happens.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to seeing you at the event!
